Skimping Smart on Photography

From one bargain shopper to another, I know there are many of us out there who love a good deal. Who can't quite hit "Buy Now" without knowing we've used all resources available to us to make sure we're getting our purchase at the cheapest price known to Google. At the same time, there are still those few items where we simply refuse to compromise quality in our quest to save a little extra money. Photography is (or should) be one of those areas.

There are, however, a few loopholes in ways for you to get the quality portraits you desire even on a budget this holiday season. I'm going to be posting some pointers on ways you can safely save a little on your portraits without compromising quality.

The first tip is to reevaluate your framing. While it's no secret that a good frame can really accent a portrait and properly display your image in a high class and artful way, at the same time it is better to invest in the image now and save the expensive frame for later if buying both at once is too expensive for your budget.

ApartmentTherapy.com had a great article about finding cheap framing options.

They not only listed some of their finds but also opened up the comments for readers to share their low cost frame finds as well.

It might seem odd to pay so much to have your portraits and then have them in a non-custom boutique frame, but at least you have them on your wall in the first place and you can easily switch them into a new frame in a few months. Also, don't be afraid to check out the article on finding inexpensive framing stores near you.

Until the next tip,

Sarah

Looking for a Unique gift?

Looking for something different to give to the person who has everything? Give them the gift of portraiture. Sarah Anne Photography will be offering gift certificates this holiday season. These certificates will include a full session and a few extra goodies as well. They're perfect for the family who has everything already, and so much more personal than a bottle of wine or fruit of the month club.

Check back later this week for more details and how you can purchase your gift certificates.

I'm spreading a little more Holiday Cheer by showing off another of our Holiday Card designs.

Be sure you book your sessions early this fall to give yourself plenty of time for ordering and waiting for your cards to be delivered.

Holiday Cards again...

Am I the only one who tends to break out the holiday music way too early? For some reason I just really love the anticipation of the holidays over the actual event.

To help curb my ever growing hunger for some white snowflakes and frosted cookies, here are a few more of our holiday card templates offered this year. Remember, every time we post holiday cards the first person to email us gets a set free!

Apologies & Excuses

I'm sorry for the lack of posting this week. I've been hit hard with allergies, sinus infections and bronchitis. A couple days flat on my back, a night at the Doctor's office, a few x-rays and breathing treatments and finally I'm starting to feel a little better. Thank goodness too because it's just in time for the busy Senior season.

Which brings me to the point of this whole post, I wanted to announce that as of tonight I have ONE time slot available in October for a session. So, if you've been hesitating to book but want to have your pictures with some of the gorgeous fall colors that are coming up, stop waiting! I only offer a limited amount of bookings each month to make sure I'm able to give each session my full attention from start to finish and I can only squeeze in one more in October.

I will be online most of the evening working so you may call or email to book your appointment. Also, another reminder (I feel like a mother here...) all Holiday card orders MUST be in by November 15th.

And, as I said before, the first person to email me will receive one free set of cards with a new session booked before November 15th.

So Excited!

I'm so excited and just had to share. Sarah Anne Photography is going to be offering Holiday Cards this year! And for every session booked between now and November we'll give you a 15% discount on the price.

Stick around for a revealing of the designs later this week. I've seen them myself and just absolutely love them. I can't wait until I can show you and hear your reactions to them.

Until Later,
